miatabug: This cache has been pulled. We enjoyed a Sunday afternoon walk to both ends of the cache. Along the way, we spotted four ducks (including two teals), my first heron of the season, and two waterfalls. Thanks to everyone who made this journey and extra thanks to those who awarded this cache a favorite vote.

How Geocaching Works

Geocache Description:

This is a three-stage cache in a little used area of North Chagrin Reservation. The overall walk is a little over two miles. You can start your adventure near the parking for Rogers Field (the rugby field). Your adventure will take you to locations with a steep climb, mud, and water. You should walk a bridle trail for stages 1 and 2. When encountering a choice on the bridle trails, go LEFT for stage 1, and go RIGHT for stage 2 assuming you have moved your geomobile). You will have one steep climb on the bridle trail on the way to stage 2. If you are there in the spring, your senses will be treated to a huge chorus of frogs, the wonderful smell of leeks, and lots of different wildflowers including coltsfoot, spring beauty, bloodroot, trilliums, and hepatica. We often see wood ducks and mallards when on these trails. Depending on when you seek this cache the terrain could jump to a 3 1/2 or 4.

Please note, do not try to use the shortest distance to go from stage 1 to stage 2. You will get very wet and very muddy. Most cachers will move their geomobile to the Wilson Mills Trail Head parking area. If you want to hike the entire cache without moving your vehicle, be certain to check a trail map and plan on a 5-6 mile walk.
