SERENITY Traditional Geocache

I placed this cache mainly as an enticement to get people to visit the area and hopefully place more caches.
It has been 45 plus years since I was last in the area. In the 50s and early 60s I spent my summers exploring
and in the spring I would hunt Quail, rabbits, pigeons, and Dove. The only change that has occurred since then is heavier growth of trees and shrubs. It took me 3 ½ hours round trip today to and from the cache site. I saw one mountain biker, one hiker, two deer, and a mama Quail and her chicks. There was a slight breeze blowing which cleared the air and the view of the valley and beyond was fantastic. The cache container is a 35mm film container with log and geo note. Bring your own pen/pencil. Parking is almost non-existent. The shortest route to the cache is from the trailhead at the end of Sheldon Road. There are signs posted on Sheldon stating “Private road, no parking. Cars will be towed at owners expense.” There is a small turnout on Overlook Road at Sheldon, large enough for one car, just barely. I didn’t see any no parking signs there.
The only other parking would be on Wissahickon or on Overlook at the curb next to the apartments. I walked up from Tait Ave. The steepest part of the walk is Sheldon Road. Bring plenty of water. To the best of my knowledge Sheldon Road is open to hikers and mountain bikers per Mid Peninsula Open Space ordinance #93-1. The cache is a 1, however due to the difficulty in parking I will probably rate it higher.
