Geocache Description:

Whether you are a veteran geocoin collector or a new person interested in finding out about geocoins, join us for a funfilled day, lots of geocoin trading, and of course plenty of area caching before and after.

FREE STUFF***NEW CACHES***FUN FUN FUN****

* What: MOKAN GeocoinFest Multi Event
* Where: Shelter House 1 Heritage Park 159th & Pflumm Rd
* Event Contact: sawblade05 or Larry739
* Time: 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.
* Why: Hang out with other geocachers and trade geocoins

There are 12 picnic tables for showing or viewing geocoins, so come early to get situated. There will also be periodic free drawings for door prizes. This event is open to everyone. So even if you don't collect geocoins, come and spend the afternoon hanging out and sharing stories with other area cachers. It's an easy smiley. Hope to see you there!

There are no plans for food or drink so if you want to eat or drink bring your own. We do have the shelter all day if you want to bring lunch and come early. Just need to clear the tables by 1pm. Alcohol is not allowed. We will have water and geotrailmix to snack on.

More detailed information on the Geocoinfest Multi-event and event coin can be found by going here: (visit link) We will have some of the MOKAN Event Coins available if you missed out on the advanced order. Those who ordered coins in advance may pick them up at the event.

For planning purposes, please post a "will attend" log if you plan on joining us. Also plan to bring along camp chairs in case more seating is needed.

DONATIONS AND PRIZES!!!!!!

So far we have the following door prizes:

Gift Certificate from THE GEOCOIN CLUB

Geocoin from Karma (Dorkfish)

2 geocoins, a TB tag, numerous geopatches and swag items and pins from Oakcoins.

Geocoin and swag from Landsharkz.

From Thomas Bertich at the Geocoinshop 4 very nice geocoins.

From Mark at Socalgeocoins:a package of 10 geocoins from www.Socalgeocoins.com in tomorrows mail. These are real cool geocoins. This was a generous donation.

We got in 9 different geocoins from GEOCOINSHOP.DE in Germany. These are all very expensive geocoins and not seen often in the US due to the cost of postage from Europe and the value of the EURO. This was a very generous donation. We may have a silent auction to pay off the cost of the shelter on these.

The Caching Place sent us a pair of DELUX Geocaching albums and several packages of geopins and patches to give away and auction off.

BONUS: NEW CACHES!!!!!!

Three new caches have been placed in the park and one will be released to be published on the day of the event. Attendees will get printed cache sheets at the end of the event. There are already 9 other caches located in the park including the final stage of a cache with its first stage hidden elsewhere. All but 2 of these caches are large caches and not micros. If you have not found the Heritage Park caches before now is your chance. If you have then you can give tips and hints to those who have not and go after FTF on the three new ones.

DROOL!!! NEW CACHES!!!

Here's my top ten rules of geocoin etiquette:

1. Always pass coins face up. Passing face down is an insult.

2. Never deface another cachers personal coin

3. Coins should always be presented with right hand palm up

4. Never lick a geocoin before placing it in a cache

5. The "finders keepers losers weepers" rule does not apply to activated coins

6. Always cover coins when coughing or sneezing

7. Wash your hands before fondling a geocoin

8. Do not test soft vs hard enamel by biting with teeth

9. Never melt down a geocoin (it is not real gold)

10. If you name your geocoin it is not polite to whisper to it in group settings
