Tiny Often Empty Park (#1): North Brunswick, NJ. Here you will
find the latest count of caches in the series and find out how you
can add your own.
This nano cache is located in a small park located next to the
driveway of the Matawan post office just before Ravine Drive on
Main Street. The park has a small sidewalk area that provides
visitors with a place to sit and relax.
The Downtown Matawan Alliance annually decorates trees around
the post office with lights for the holidays. In 1999, the alliance
decided to fix the entire space around the trees to create this
“pocket park”. The park was completed in 2002, with the Matawan
Historic Sites Commission donating a welcome sign and the Matawan
Women’s Club planting an evergreen tree.
Note: The evergreen tree has now been replaced with a small
fountain. Still nice though.
This park is dedicated to Peter Buxbaum, a Matawan post office
employee and cancer victim who passed away in early 2002.
Please use extreme stealth since the surrounding area may be
teeming with muggles at certain times of the day!!
Congratulations to ericles on a
well-earned First to Find!!
