A good cache for kids in Wunderlich County Park.
Wunderlich Park, a hillside area of redwood forest, open meadows, and beautiful oaks and madrones, was once the ranch of the Folger family and was donated to San Mateo County by Martin Wunderlich. The park is largely open space, with a system of beautiful trails.
It's a good park to go to on a hot day, there's plenty of shade on the path. There's a fairly easy 2 mile round-trip hike that's great for kids, plus plenty of more challenging long hikes too.
The shade means it's not easy to get good gps readings in most places. The cache is hidden about 20 feet from the trail in an more open area, I was able to get a 5-satellite reading right on the trail near the cache.
Cache is a decon container, stocked with the log and a bunch of kid trinkets. There's poison oak around, though not where the cache is, but be on the lookout.
