William Hicks was a confederate sympathizer who came to California with the hopes of finding gold. With his new riches, he hoped to finance the Confederacy and then win a top spot in its government. By the time he managed to get to California with his family, which included grown children, the Civil War was over. He instead settled the land and opened a store and hotel for travellers. He never became rich. He is now buried in this cemetary, which is all that's left of Hicksville. Maybe he'll help you find this cache!
The cache is a round container with a screw top, about 3"x3". It has a logbook, the geocache message and a few small items. There isn't a lot of room, bring small stuff. And while you're there, notice how many recent burials there have been. There are also a lot of street names in the area that match the names on the headstones.
