Geocache Description:

The Chinese population had a difficult life in Northeast Oregon in the gold mining days. This little park, a former cemetery, commemorates these hard-working, diligent people. Several information signs tell of their plight. This site served as a temporary burial ground from 1880 - 1940. Baker City would like you to visit and enjoy this park. Please stay on the graveled walkways as you read the signs and explore the area. Their remains were dug up and transported to China in the 1940's. For some reason, the graves were not filled back in with dirt. One can easily see many of the gravesites. As a memorial, one headstone is placed over the grave of Lee Chue. In honor of the dead, the cache is not located in any of the graves, but is within the boundery of this small park. To find the container, locate Lee's headstone. Jot down the length of his life. From the N coordinate above, subtract the length of Lee's lifespan: (4446934 - xx). Add 60 to this figure. Put in your decimals, and that is the N coordinate for the ammo box. Now find a sign telling how many additional gravesites were in this small cemetery. Add this figure to the W coordinate: (11748472 + xx). Subtract 112 from this figure. Put in your decimals, and that is now the W coordinate. Original contents of ammo box: logbook & pencil padlock butane stove lighter dictionary insulated beverage can holder
