With profound apologies to Max Ehrmann.
Go placidly amidst the Redwoods and streams,
and remember what peace there may be in not staring endlessly at
your GPS.
As far as possible without surrender,
be on good terms with your satellite reception.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly;
and if you have to post a DNF, be honest about it;
And listen to others,
even the dull and the ignorant;
even they can find this cache and so can you.
Satellite reception? You won’t find it in the Forest of
Nisene-Marks. Least of all at this cache location. My
recommendation: print out the hint and take it with you.
I refer in the hint to a “feature”. You could easily look it up on
a map, like topozone, and see what I’m talking about, but some
people like surprises, so I won’t name it.
A quick trailnote:
The best and easiest approach is to take the Aptos Creek Trail
all the way, but unfortunately a landslide has taken out the trail
(and I mean REALLY taken out the trail) about 0.5 miles above the
Epicenter (where the classic
Shake Your Booty cache is located). So unfortunately, this just
got a bit harder. You’ll need to hike up the fire road to the Big
Slide Trail and take that down to the Aptos Creek Trail to avoid
the slide area. This over climbs a substantial amount, but it is a
very well maintained trail.
