Geocache Description:

A really cool historic structure. Drive up to the high school and park in their lot then walk back to the spring house.

Cache was replaced June 25, 2017. Bush a short distance behind the spring house. You will intersect with a bike trail. The cache is in a very old large rotten 6 foot tall snag, right off the trail with a very large shiny mushroom at it's base.

The best part of this geocache is the springhouse itself. The cache is hidden in the woods behind the building. When this cache was placed, the high school did not yet even own the land. The spring house was in great disrepair. It was the last remnant from a big old guest house. When the high school was built, the owners were willing to give it to the school, but the school board would not accept it until it was fixed and made safe (thus the grill just under the surface of the water). Fundraising started and was successful and the high school does now own this lovely structure...color coordinated too! Myself and at least one other geocacher contributed to the cause and our (real-world) names are on the plaque out front. I'm not sure if there is more than just the two of us...anyone want to own up?
