Congrats to beezers958 on being the FTF the resurected Pearl from Davy Jones' Locker!!! This cache was originally hidden in 2005 by TheElves under the name, Captain Ryan’s Black Pearl. The container we adopted is the container that beezers958 put out as the replacement in July of 2010. BOuLdeR7 and I stopped by to check on it since so many hours had gone by without a log today(9/18/12). We were excited to see that it had been visited by none other than beezers958 himself! :) We added the new name and GC code to the container. We also decided to increase the difficulty and terrain ratings because that hill is steeper than I remembered it being. There are a number of choices for approaching GZ but all involve some mild bushwacking. Ticks are always a concern when caching in wooded areas in spring and early summer. I have not noticed any poison ivy anywhere near GZ or on my travels in and out of the woods to and from GZ but there could be some in the future so always be extra careful when caching in woodsy areas.
About a year ago, I offered to adopt it but got no response. Upon the advice of lilnake, who just found it recently and informed me that it is still in good condition, I decided to commandeer the vessel and rename it. I grew up playing at parks and beaches along lake Michigan and love spending my free time hanging out near the shore. I hope you enjoy your visit here as much as I did when geocaching brought me to this park for the first time.
The new Permit #194 for this cache was issued by Brian Russart on 9/17/2012.
