Geocache Description:

This cache is an ammo box located between the connector road through Cumberland Head and the walls of the infamous Fort Izard. Fort Izard was used in the War of 1812. When I say "used" I mean it was occupied during the war by American soldiers, but there was never any combat to or from it. Walk the wooded trail to the left of the road excavation. The trail is fairly level with little bushwacking necessary. When you get to the cache, you can go up the slight hill to the left of it and see the walls of the fort. Please sign the log book and feel free to add any comments that would make this a better cache.
