It is intended to hold a one day cache event on Saturday 22
April 2006 in the beautiful city of Ely in Cambridgeshire. Planning
for it is well underway and there will be two caches laid specially
for the event, going live in the morning. These are, of course, in
addition to the existing caches in the area. (Eel Island, Cathedral
View, A quacking Good Cache - although it may be muggled, Pint and
Picnics, Steel Gates, Jack and Holly's, St Andrews, North Fen and
Fen Boxes.)
Cachers are invited to meet at The Maltings (co-ords above)
http://www.themaltingsely.co.uk/ around 11am to midday to find out
who all these people whose caching names they've seen so often
really are. No special area has been booked in the pub but it
should prove big enough to house a fair few of us - look out for
the GPS on the table (outside if nice weather) and cache sheets to
find out who to talk to.
Attendees are then free to do their own thing in groups or
alone. Mrs N has selflessly volunteered to lead the caching
widows/widowers posse in shopping / sightseeing / drinking /
organised whinge about how rubbish caching is. Those who want to
can then meet up again around 5pm to compare war stories, wounds
etc.
Meals will be available as required but there will not be an
organised lunch or dinner.
For those wanting to make a weekend of it good camping is
available locally. For the Maltings parking is nearby, and best of
all, absolutely free.
Please indicate if you will be attending and email with your
real names for production of badges for the day.
We look forward to seeing you in April.
Thanks to Daytribe and Major Trek & Co for their
collaboration.
