Geocache Description:

Cache container is a camouflaged rubbermaid with the traditional FTF $1, logbook, and exchange items. Maps are available in the parking area. Take some time to walk thru and imagine life here in the CCC era.

Camp F-14 was established on May 25, 1933 and was one of 23 CCC camps in the Chippewa National Forest. This camp was one of six that lasted until the end of the CCC era in the Forest. On this site members of the CCC lived and worked restoring the Chippewa Forest and developing many of the recreational facilities we enjoy today. Camp F-14 was disbanded in 1942. From 1943-1945 Camp F-14 was used as a Prisoner of War camp. The German POW's worked in the woods for logging contractors.
