An easily found travel bug motel located about 250 feet off the paved road up a desert path. While not wheelchair accessable, dogs and kids are welcome. Keep an eye out for desert critters and pokey plants.
This is my first cache, and in getting into geocaching, I have found I especially like finding travel bugs and geocoins. So I decided I would make my first cache a Travel Bug Motel, coveniently located next to the freeway and designed to help travel bugs move into and out of Southern California. It is not a difficult find, and it has easy access via Stoddard Wells Road. There are two Stoddard Wells Road exits off Interstate 15. The cache is located between them, just west of the freeway. You can get off at the first Stoddard Wells exit you come to, find the cache, and continue back to the freeway still going in the same direction.
The cache is named after the Mojave Green rattlesnake, considered by many to be the most poisonous of the various kinds of rattlesnakes. They do inhabit the desert around here, but don't get uptight about it. I have lived here for more than twenty years, and I haven't seen one yet. Just use good common sense and keep an eye out for any type of desert critter. The other meaning for the name of the cache has to do with the color of the cache container. It is a Mojave Green colored ammo can.
As with most travel bug motels, the object here is to be a place for moving along travel bugs and geocoins. Take what you're able to move along, and trade out if you can. BUT PLEASE DON'T TAKE ALL THE TRACKABLES AND JUST LEAVE AN EMPTY CAN. (This has happened several times recently!) And it goes without saying, be sure to log any visitors in or out of the TB motel.
