Walter B Moore SR was a hardworking man; a great father and loving husband. The stories I've been told make me wish I would have met him in person. The pictures I’ve seen show him doing lots of fishing and laughing. He died 6 months before I was born.
Ruth L. Moore was the sweetest person I've ever met. She always had a smile on her face. She faced adversity in her life suffering from skin cancer on her face. She had her whole nose removed. She always wore a gauze pad over it at home and a prosthetic nose when she went out on the town. Even after having something like this happen, she was always bubbly and never ashamed of her appearance. I remember growing up and visiting her. She would look after me along with my older brother and two older sisters. There was ALWAYS food to be eaten at her house. She came to live with us when the early stages of Alzheimer’s took control of her life. It was sad to see the decline. I’m glad I have the memories I have, but I do miss her greatly!!
They had four children; Walter Jr is buried behind them. Alvin and Russell were buried elsewhere. Their daughter, Doris, is very much alive (and she is my mom!!!)
