Geocache Description:

Introduction of the Fountain Hills Preserve to hikers and participate in a geocache event.

Currently the Preserve in Fountain Hills lies behind private land. The Fountain Hills Sonoran Conservancy Stewards lead hikers across this private land to the preserve. Once in the Preserve, hikers can enjoy any of 6 miles of completed trails.
This event is to introduce hikers to the Preserve and participate in a geocaching event.
The coordinates are the meeting place.
Preserve stewards will then guide us across the private land. Once in the Preserve you will receive a sheet listing the several geocaches that have been hidden in the Preserve (with the permission of the MMPC).
The caches will be of several types (virtual, regular, log only, etc), located on the trails. Prizes will be given for the log only caches later.
For hikers who have not experienced geocaching it will be an introduction to this great sport. Experienced geocachers are requested to team up with a newbie to show them the thrill of the find.
This event is March 14 only. The caches will be removed after the event.
We will leave from the coordinates at 8:00 am and begin to return at 11:30 am. The Preserve is 1.7 miles from the coordinates.

Come join us for a morning of hiking and geocaching. Stay and enjoy lunch at a local restaurant and then grab some of the other Fountain Hills geocaches.
The agreement with the owners of the private land we must cross is that no dogs are allowed. Also, some caches will not have a pencil so please bring your own.
