Geocache Description:

A tour of the Bird Sanctuary, or the John Horan Natural Area, a part of the Confluence State Park.

You do not need to pay to enter the natural area. Park here: N 47° 26.877 W 120° 19.469 for quick and free access to the park.

Total hike length: 1.85 mile loop trail.

How long: 1 hour or so.

Trail info: Easy flat walk on maintained, lightly graveled trail. There is a pit toilet about halfway through the loop, as well as a bench nearby. There are garbage cans at periodic intervals. No water available.

Quick details: Make sure and print out the multi stage info on cache page. The coordinates for the stages are also listed as additional waypoints, so they can be easily downloaded into your GPS.

This cache is disabled between December 1 - March 1. Please do not try and search during this time, as part of the park is closed for Bald Eagle nesting.

You DO NOT have to go off of the trail, except at the last coordinate, which is the actual cache and not located in the State Park itself. The actual cache final is near the beginning of the multi, in Walla Walla Park. I specifically placed the physical cache outside of the State Park, due to the extra-sensitive nature of a park like that, and to encourage you to walk the entire loop.

This park is for pedestrians only, and you can bring your dog if it is leashed. Park hours are 8:00am - Dusk.

All these coordinates, except for the starting coords and the final coords, are also in the additional waypoints feature so they can be downloaded into your gps.

Cache is a small camo'd lock-n-lock container, which can fit a few cache items. Please be careful to hide cache well, but not so that it is obviously hidden to outsiders.

While doing this cache, check out the other cache that is on this loop trail as well:
