Haddenham & Thame Parkway
This is a quick cache and dash in this ever growing series. A black
container containing a logsheet. Stealth is needed. Take great care
retrieving and replacing due to the number of muggles that may be
watching. Bring your own pencil!
As FTF present, I've included a non-activated SideTracked
Geocoin (inscribed with the word 'Haddenham')
FTF congratulations for this enormously difficult cache ;) go to
adsandco!!!
About SideTracked
We have Motorway Mayhem. We have A-Road Anarchy (cos there
aren’t many Motorways in Wales!). But what about public
transport users? SideTracked Caches are intended to provide quick
Cache-and-dashes at Train Stations. It is hoped this idea will
spread across the country in the same way as the MMs….
About Haddenham and Thame Parkway
Haddenham and Thame Parkway railway station serves the village of
Haddenham in Buckinghamshire and town of Thame in Oxfordshire. The
station is located on the western edge of Haddenham, two miles
north east of Thame, and is served by Chiltern Railways.
The station was opened in 1987 to serve the village of Haddenham
and the town of Thame, which had both lost their stations in the
mass closures of the 1960s. The station was originally single
platform, with the platform sited on the former down line, long
since removed. However, in 1998 as part of 'Project Evergreen,'
Chiltern Railways re-doubled the Princes Risborough-Bicester line
and re-modelled the platforms so that there are now two, one on
either line. Since then the platforms have also been lengthened and
the station building has been expanded to include a coffee shop
following the removal of the newsagents based in a temporary
building. The station is sited just north of the original Haddenham
railway station.
