Geocache Description:

This cache is part of the Green Bay Little Free Library series sponsored by the City of Green Bay Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department. Bring your own pen to sign the log.

The City of Green Bay has over 60 parks maintained by the City, including Bay Beach Amusement Park and the Wildlife Sanctuary. As part of an ongoing intiative to get more children and adults reading, the Parks department has recently installed Little Free Libraries in over 30 parks throughout the City. In its most basic form, a Little Free Library is a box full of books where anyone may stop by and pick up a book (or two) and bring back another book to share.

Joannes Park

In April, 1920, Mitchell Joannes and his wife Fannie gave the city about 40 acres along the East River which eventually became Joannes Park.

Joannes Park offers playground equipment, horseshoe pit, basketball court, volleyball, aquatic center, skate park, and Joannes Stadium.

Joannes Stadium is the home of the Green Bay Bullfrogs baseball team.

Joannes Aquatic Center is a heated pool with zero depth wading area, a tot sand play area, sand volleyball courts,  2-23′ high waterslides, drop slide and 1 meter board in diving well, lounge chairs, full service concessions, coin-operated lockers on deck and in locker rooms.
