The whole area of wadi Almeyah is very old and interesting. Fossils, ancient animal’s remains and petrified forests are only part of what can be seen here. Starting from Oray’era or Jouda in the south to Nai’riyah in the north, you will come across many small villages and ancient towns that are worth exploring. In the cool months of January February and March, this area on the eastern part of the Summan plateau becomes a heaven for campers who come from places as far as UAE, Kuwait and Qatar.
Now to the cache .. it sits inside a fissure (fracture) beneath a small mountain known as ship rock. This opening on the side of the jebel leads to a small chamber (shaft). In it, is a set of old wooden ladders that you can use to climb up the jebel. Be careful, the ladders are old and rusty. You can bring flashlight but not very necessary.
Please take a note: The posted coordinates will put you several meters west from the fissure entrance. It is NOT for the cache itself. You have to enter the jebel through the side opening and crawl on your feet .. it can get dusty there. The cache is hidden in a medium size old metal container .. It is on your left somewhere between the entrance and the chamber.
