Geocache Description:

This is a Lunchtime Meet-and-Greet event for cachers in the U of U area (or anyone else that wants to come up) to socialize, share stories, exchange Travel Bugs, and discuss ideas for future events and caches in the University area. We will also be wishing Aim_High! a happy retirement. We will miss his constant presence in the area, and hope he visits often.

The posted Coordinates will take you to the front of the Chase N. Peterson Heritage Center, where we will
meet. At 11:45 we will move into the Heritage Center Dining Room on the 2nd floor (this is the same place where the athletes dined during the 2002 Olympics).
The Dining Room serves an all-you-can-eat buffet lunch with something for just about anyone. The cost of lunch is $7.32 including tax and we will just pay as
we enter. Aim_High! your lunch is on me in honor of
your retirement. We will eat, chat, and hang out until people need to get back to work or on with their day. There are several nearby caches around for anyone
that wants to hit a few after lunch.

Note: because they
don’t want students stealing food and taking it back to their dorms, backpacks or
other bags are not allowed in the dining hall. There are cubbies just outside
of the dining area where you can stow your bags, but they are not lockable. If
you’re bringing Travel Bugs, you might want to shove them in your pockets or
put them in a clear plastic bag.

As always, parking can be problematic on the U Campus. There
are 2-hour parking meters just outside of Heritage hall at N 40 45.921 W 111
49.850. During the summer there are usually at least a few meters open, but
there are no guarantees when it comes to parking. I work in Research Park
(421 Wakara
Way), and I’ll be walking over to Heritage Hall.
There is ample free parking behind my building. If you don’t want to hassle
with parking, and don’t mind a short walk, meet me in my parking lot at N 40 45.512  W 111 49.692
at 11:30 AM and we can walk over together. The walk is exactly ½ mile on flat
terrain, and can be performed at a leisurely pace in less than 15 minutes.

Please contact me, Steve0mania, or FE if you’ve got any questions. Hope to see
you there.
