Geocache Description:

The cache can be reached by walking along the beach and rocks depending on the tide,or it can also be reached by going through a small wooded area.

The cache is located on the grounds of the Marshall Point Lighthouse & Museum in Port Clyde, Maine. The lighthouse is still an active Coast Guard aid to navigation. Under the Maine Lights Program the entire station, including the lighthouse, became the property of the town of St. George in April 1998. You can visit the lighthouse and grounds all year; the museum is open from May to October. Parking & admission is free. To get there take Route 131 south from U.S. 1 in Thomaston. Follow 131 through St. George and Tenant’s Harbor to Port Clyde. Turn left on Drift Inn Road then right onto Marshall Point Road. The lighthouse is at the end of the road. Your GPS should point you in the general direction of the cache. The area is not too large so no long hikes or steep climbs are involved. The real prize is the scenic beauty of the lighthouse and ocean. Be sure to bring your camera and binoculars. Marshall Point is an exceptionally photogenic lighthouse, and it attracts many photographers. The cache is an 8in X 8in Rubbermaid container with a white cover. It has a Log and all the usual cache items. Please leave a short note telling where your from and if you enjoyed the Lighthouse and Museum along with the usual log entries. Please feel free to upload any images you take during your visit.
