Here's a
chance to hike this great area. It's the Castalia Quarry, and is
part of the Erie County Metroparks. The first cache was hidden here
(Serendipity III) by my father-in-law, SirAl on Mother's Day in
2003. Since then there have been many new caches added around the
rim, and in the Quarry, including a multi and an
Earthcache..
We're
having a little get together to introduce this park to the people
that haven't been here before, and to bring back the people that
have.
The
official event will be from 3 - 5, but you can come early and/or
stay late and enjoy the caches in this park and in the surrounding
area. Of course there will also be several temporary event caches,
too.
There will
be a TB table and be sure to sign the log book. Bring
lawn chairs for sitting around talking about caching!!
Also while
this is going on, the Erie County Metroparks will be kicking off
their "Take a Hike" program. They have been so wonderful to us, and
let us hide many caches in their wonderful parks. Last year Bipolar
Bear and I earned our hiking stick prizes in the Take a Hike
program just by hiding and finding caches in several of the
parks!
