You are looking for an ammo can at the end of the road.
Gold Ray Dam was originally a log dam built in 1903 to supply
electricity to local gold mines. The City of Medford was quick to
tap into the hydropower. The log dam was replaced with concrete in
1946. Owned for many years by the COPCO power company the dam quit
generating electricity in 1968. The property is now owned by
Jackson County.
If you are here on a summer evening around or after sunset watch
out for rattlesnakes.
It is a busy area during salmon season.
