Gold Ray Dam was originally a log dam built in 1903 to supply electricity to local gold mines. The City of Medford was quick to tap into the hydropower. The log dam was replaced with concrete in 1946. Owned for many years by the COPCO power company the dam quit generating electricity in 1968. The property is now owned by Jackson County.
If you are here on a summer evening around or after sunset watch out for rattlesnakes.
It is a busy area during salmon season.

Couldn't find this one last year when we were visiting our grandparents. Left a $10 bill, bracelet and a TB. Took a raido that probably doesn't even work! Thanks.

This cache has been on our "to do" list for a long time. Finally today we were in the right location to grab it. No rattlesnakes today, but I bet it is a favorite hangout for them!! Signed the log, TN and left a horse of course!! TFTH!!

Nice day for a drive i have never been down this road before lived in GH for over 3 years. Cache is in great cond, took horse hair key chain and left a copper bracelet SL TFTC
