The increasing popularity of Denali National Park necessitated
increasing pedestrian safety for visitors making the trek between
the commercial zone outside the park and the park visitor center,
shuttle bus staging area, and railroad station by providing a path
separate from the roadway.
Come enjoy the new pedestrian and bicycle path that parallels
the Parks Highway and eliminates the need to play "Frogger"
(whoops, did I just date myself?) with the high-speed traffic.
Stretch your legs during a long drive between Anchorage and
Fairbanks or after eating a meal at one of the lodges or
restaurants in the area. Enjoy watching paddle and oar rafts launch
adventure-seekers into the Class III to Class IV Nenana River from
below the cache location. Just hope you don't suffer from
vertigo.
Should be accessible year-round, though you may want snowshoes
or skis during the winter if the snow is deep.
This cache is located east of the eastern
boundary (the Nenana River at this point) of the National Park...it
is not in the Park.
