This cache was placed here at Corby's Bridge on my birthday, so to help me celebrate there is a bottle of beer hidden for the FTF, cheers have a drink on me.
Park in the small layby at the side of the busy little road and then a short walk up to the cache. Be very careful on the stepping stones, they get VERY slippery when wet. Best to walk over the bridge and go up the other side of the stream.
Passed by here hundreds of times and caught glimpses of the waterfall but never stopped, until today. Sun was shinning as we parked by the bridges?
If you walk to the falls and look back at the bridges you’ll see what I mean about more than one bridge. How many bridges do you see ?
Amy and I think there are 3.
They seen to have been built on top of each other over the years, probably as the road has got busier and traffic has got heavier and wider.
Walk through the trees to the cache, GPS is a bit intermittent but should be OK. Might be easier if you walk to the top, get a better signal and then walk down to the cache. If you walk up to the top of the hill, passed the cache, through the primroses and bluebells and turn and look back over the bridges you have some great views. you can see Cheviot in the distance, today it had a cap of snow. Also in the valley below you can see Edlingham castle, (1 cache ) the church and the old railway line with viaduct.
In the near distance you can also see Thrunton Woods ( 4 caches ). To your left over the stream there's supposed to be the ruins of an old British settlement
