Trail on Lake Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

Greatland Reviewer: Hello:

Time for some Spring clean-up before the mosquitoes fly and the cruise ships arrive.

This cache page has been archived due to the lack of a timely response to a prior Reviewer Note and/or because the Cache Owner has not been online for several months. If the owner would like to have it reinstated, please contact me through my profile as soon as possible before another cache gets placed nearby.

Please note that unarchiving a cache page requires it to go through the same review process as a newly proposed cache, using the cache placement guidelines currently in effect.

Geocache Description:

The trail you will follow on this 2-part multicache is ON a lake, therefore a boat (canoe, kayak, small skiff) is required. Take a nice weather day for this 3 to 4 mile excursion, and be sure to take your PFD!

Launch your watercraft near N 60 26.100 W 149 22.320. The pull off from the highway is about 700 feet south of the launch location. Keep in mind that both hide locations are on dry ground.

The first stage is a partially camoed orange waterproof match container containing coordinates for the second stage. The first stage is designed to be accessed FROM THE WATER, although you may want to get out of your boat and explore the area while there. It will be difficult but not impossible to find from land. This is an ideal picnic location.

The second (final) stage is an ammo can with trinkets and treasures for all. We topped off the contents with 2 geocoins and a TB.

Placing this multi was a comedy of errors. We forgot the GPS on the first trip made with one double kayak, one canoe, and one 5-year-old taking a free ride, half of the trip in each boat. On the second trip with GPS in hand, the canoe almost feel off the truck twice enroute to lake. However, no one fell overboard, no GPS was damaged, and so we hope this cache isn't jinxed from the get-go!
