In the mid 1980's when the fledgling Sandy Stream Riding Club was looking for a place to hold horse shows, this parcel of land was overgrown with alders and scrub brush. A few years earlier, a boat launch had been installed at this site, and a rumor went around that the stream would be dredged to make it passable by boat all the way to Unity Pond. The dredging never happened, but the boat launch is still there and is open to the public.
Members of the riding club cleared the brush and smoothed out the driveway. They hauled in fill and had it leveled to create an area for the riding ring. The first horse show at this location was held in 1986, and horse shows have continued here every year since then.
If you happen to come here on horse show days, there will be Muggles around, but you should still be able to access the cache without a problem as it is not in view from the riding ring or parking area.
The cache is a quart-size plastic container with only enough room for small items. There is also a prize for First to Find.
