Groundspeak has set forth a challenge for the month of August. To complete this challenge you need to find six different cache types throughout the month of August. Each cache type earns you a souvenir for your profile. You can also earn a seventh souvenir as a reward for earning all other souvenirs. The types and souvenirs are as follows:
Traditional Cache - The Explorer
Mystery Cache - The Puzzler
Multi-Cache - The Sightseer
CITO Event or Earthcache - The Nature Lover
Event Cache - The Socializer
Virtual, Wherigo, Letterbox Hybrid or Webcam Cache - The Collector
All Six Souvenirs - The Achiever
The purpose of this event is to throw out an additional challenge. This challenge is to collect all seven souvenirs on the first day of August. Of course this event will count as your event cache, so all you've got to do is find five other caches during the day and come to this event in the evening to claim your final two souvenirs.
What do I get for this you ask? There will be a geocoin awarded to the cacher who finds all five (Traditional, Mystery, Multi, Earthcache and Virtual) the fastest. If no one finds all five on August 1st, well I'm disappointed, but the award will go to whichever cacher does the best. Obviously, this will have to go on an honor system, so please no lying or cheating. You don't have to be participating in this contest to attend this event. Everyone can come out and enjoy themselves.
