The cache is a nanno. Bring a fine tip writing instrument.
In 1792 Colonel Robert McGregor the Aide de Camp of General John
Stark supervised the construction of the first bridge built at this
location. The two lane wooden bridge with massive granite abutments
served the purpose for horses, carts, wagons and foot trafic. For
three dacades it even acommodated automobiles.
In 1937 The City of Manchester constructed the Great Arch Bridge
soon to be named the Notre Dame Bridge.
This wonderful archetectural masterpiece adorned the skyline of the
Queen City for 52 years, becoming the City's Signature
landmark.
Sadly it was demolished in 1989.
This simple little known monument was erected to commemorate the
Notre Dame Bridge that Manchester natives recognized as a symbol of
their city.

February 9 by pridelander (111 found) A fun PNG before a morning appointment downtown. I moved to NH in 1995, long after the arch bridge was gone. Thanks for showing me a part of the city's history and I missed out on. SL / TFTC
