Osen Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

cervisvenator: Hi

While I feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for the cache owner and block other cachers from placing a cache in the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time, we can’t do so forever.

Nothing seems to happen with this cache listing, so it is now archived, so that someone else can place a cache in the area, and geocachers can once again enjoy visiting this location. Also, if it hasn’t been done already, please pick up any remaining cache bits as soon as possible.

(This reviewer note is in English so non-Norwegian cache owners, geocachers and cache reviewers can understand what it says.)

Thanks for your understanding,
Cervis Venator

Geocache Description:

"Osen" is according to the dictionary the place where the river flows into the sea - but with locals in Dirdal it is the name of all the green outdoor area around the bottom of Dirdal River. The area is mostly used in summertime for swimming, barbecues and various school and teamendings, and annually midsummer is celebrated here.

Dirdal River is about 40 km long, starts in Øyarvatnet in Vest-Agder, runs through Øvstabødalen and Dirdal and culminates in Høgsfjorden. The river is rich with salmon, and is popular with fishermen in the salmon season.

If you come here on a summer evening you can often view a beautiful sunset in the bay.
