This is a fun hike for familys in the spring, summer and fall. To get to the cache in the winter will require snow shoes or cross country skis.
Use caution if the trail is icy in the spring.
When we set this up March 2, 2002 their was very little snow. I was wearing tennis shoes.
One can walk around the patches of ice on the trail.
In the warmer months on every new moon weekend you will find up to a hundred amateur astronomers with their telescopes at the parking lot.
Dogs welcome.
Exit Interstate 5 at the Frazier Park exit. Just past Gorman if driving from Los Angeles.
Drive 15 Miles to the end of the road parking lot at
34 48.786
119 7.581
Cache is located under a small pile of rocks. Look for unusual red Lichen on top of rock.
A great place for a over night backpack.
An Adventure Pass is required to park in the National Forest.
You can get one at the Ranger Station at the turn for Lockwood Valley,
at the bottom of the hill.
Enjoy.
Peace and Love
