Papa Bear_Left had left a cache behind in Christchurch, and he got
Grandalf to retrieve it. And so some cunning minds got together and
hatched a new plan.
First you need to get to a stile at about S 43 40.262 E 172
42.800, and from there proceed up the Magnificent track to the
listed coordinates, where you will find a 200ml camo container with
a puzzle that will give you the final coordinates. Please leave the
puzzle back in its hiding place. There will be mud along the trail,
so you might want to wear boots. As you might expect, there is a
short climb!
The expedition on 16 March 2024 to retrieve the final cache found that the vegetation (gorse, bracken and matagouri) had grown so much that the CO decided to move the final to a better location only a short distance away. The instruction at the waypoint has also been updated.
The final cache is a 2-litre camo snaplock with initial contents: logbook, pencil, a few swaps, and plenty of room for your TBs.
