Max Cacher: Greetings from Geocaching.com

It looks like your cache has been under the weather for some time. While we feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for you and block other cachers from entering the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time, we can't do so forever. So that someone else can place a cache in the area, and geocachers can once again enjoy visiting this location. Also, if you haven’t done so already, please pick up any remaining cache bits as soon as possible.

If you are in the process of replacing or repairing your cache please e-mail me in response to this archival, and I will unarchive your cache.

After we posted a note to you cache requesting a response from you to post what you were planning to do with the cache on the page and sending us a note. We have no record of a response, and no response tells us that you are not planning on replacing, or repairing this cache if we are wrong with that assumption please let me know.

I want to thank you for the time that you have taken to contribute to geocaching in the past and am looking forward to seeing your cache up and running in the future.

Geocache Description:

Cache on uninhabited island. Need shallow draft boat beware of stickers and bugs

Penguin's Loot II- The second of the Mighty Penguins island caches. You need a boat. Shallow draft is the best. Be sure to use boating safety at all times. Don't loose you hat. Do not disturb any wildlife, including fishermen. You should see quite a few herrons and a lot of splashing fish. With a little luck you can see planes almost landing on your boat. Also you can see the steam engine taking tourists for a ride. Now on to the cache. Best place to put in is 35.5775/83.5381 the McWerter park under the South Knoxville Bridge. Paddle east until you get to the Island home airport. You're half-way there. Go right (south) on the thin channel between the island and the mainland. You will go under a bridge. At the far east of this channel is a seperate island. We found the best place to beach on the NE edge.
Coord 35.5753/83.5195. Remember that the shoreline changes so the beach may move. The cache is not at the Nature Center (Rasta Ex) nor is it on the island the airport is on. Cache is in traditional ammo box. We are calling this a 4 star because of the boat. You could swim from the nature center "dock" but it's some nasty water in that river. From the "beaching point" the cache is 15 yards or so to the SW. This island is very overgrown. We had pretty good sat coverage (5-7) and the coordinates are the average of 8 readings. So to review. Park under South Knoxville bridge. Use a shallow draft boat. Remember to use boat safety (lifejackets, sunscreen, rules of the road etc.) Take the southern channel. Be aware of others (animal and vegetable) and have fun. Blue Skies The Mighty Penguins
