How Geocaching Works
This cache is in the Kanawha state forest on the Logtown hollow trail. The distance to the cache from the recommended parking area is just under ¾ of a mile. It takes me 25-30 minutes to walk there from the parking lot. The cords for the parking area are 38 14.522’ N by -81 39.259’ W. This is the parking for the shelters #3 through #7.
From the parking spot walk towards the shelters, you will see a wood foot bridge just on the other side of it is a bench mark disk as a added bonus you can log that find also. you will see a paved trail that goes around to the left past the bathrooms and play ground to shelter #3 and #4. The trail head starts right beside shelter # 3. The cords for the trail head are 38 14.650’ N by -81 39.171’ W. From the trail head its about 20min to the cache. The cache is about 50 yards off of the trail. The cache is a 1 gallon container that is cleverly disguised (until the animals decide to eat it anyways). Attention!!!! The pictures are going to contain spoilers and the hint is going to give it away. So if your one of those people that don’t like those things don’t look at the pics or the hint. I don’t want anyone walking all this way and not finding the cache so hopefully the hint and pics will give it away enough.
The contents include: log, pens, camera, poncho, free dinner at steak house, watches, rings, necklaces, gloves, hooks, balls, marbles, dice, bandaids, tool, flashlights, matchbox cars, cord, five trackables, and a scratch off lotto ticket worth up to $1,000 for the FTF prize.
