Geocache Description:

Come for a Heritage Day braai in Grahamstown

It seems plenty of cachers pass through Grahamstown, but usually only for an hour or two before moving on.  This time, stop for the day and meet some of the locals, catch up with old friends and try find a few new caches.

Grey Dam is a nice place for a braai and a chat, so if you are in the area why not meet up?  We'll make sure there is a braai drum and coals, so just bring some meat, drinks and whatever else you think goes along with it.  You'll need to bring along chairs, we'll get some tables, but if you have a folding table bring it along.

There are two caches within walking distance of the event (GC2Z53P & GC30ATH) and we are planning on setting up a few extras for the people who have already cleaned out the Grahamstown area.  If everything goes according to plan there will be ten new smileys on offer to people who attend the event.  With this in mind, try get to town early and log the new finds and then lets meet up from 12:00 onwards to share our cache experiences for the day.

Please post if you will be attending so we can decide how much wood to get for the fires. If the weather on the day is unpleasant we'll find an alternative venue, which will be posted on here closer to the time. Update: We've had a few requests for campsite info. The closest is the Makana Resort(http://www.makanaresort.co.za/). It is a municipal campsite that has had a complete overhaul in the last two years. We've never stayed there but it appears clean and well looked after. Hope that helps!
