Glebe Gates Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

Tankengine: Well – I checked this out today, and with over 662 trees in the park, they decided to cut the one containing GZ down! It is completely gone! Nope – they didn’t ask my permission, they didn’t check if there was a cache in the tree, they just cut it down… Oh well – good excuse for a new cache! [:)]

Geocache Description:

A stroll in the park.

Every City has a park. And every City Park has trees! This one has 663. Of these, 508 are English elms, and 92 are English oaks. But also, and quite importantly, City Parks have gates! How else would one manage to get in? This park has 10 gates! These aren’t just any old gates, each hand crafted stone gate is formally named to reflect the historic background of the area since European settlement.

The gates have names including…
City Gate (you start here)
Broughton Gate
St John’s Gate
Elm Tree Gate
Campbell Gate
Williams Gate
Oak Tree Gate
Canberry Gate

BUT – One of the gate names above is wrong! I will call it the Mistaken Gate! You need to find it…

To calculate the South Coordinate of the cache, add the decimal part of the south coordinate of St John’s Gate to the south coordinate of the start, then subtract the decimal part of the south coordinate of Williams Gate.

To calculate the East Coordinate of the cache, add the distance (in metres) between St John’s Gate and the Mistaken Gate to the start east coordinates.

The container is a film container, so no swaps will fit!
