Have you ever wondered "What is Earthcaching?" Maybe you have avoided it because of the stigma "It takes too long" or
"I'm not smart enough to do Earthcaches"
I bring the above mentioned up because these are all excuses I have heard (plus many more) on why people do not Earthcache.
So the IAG Platinum Team will be hosting...
"Discover Earthcaching!"
July 19th, 2014 from 11am-1pm
This event will be held in beautiful Beckenholdt Park of Greenfield, IN and will be divided into two sections:
1.) Discovery
This is where you will learn the ins and outs of How to discover Earthcaches using tools of the game and much more.
We have a special and rare treat for this section of the event.
Our out of town guest speaker for this section is none other than the #1 rated Earthcacher in the world, with over 2,000 Earthcache finds, Oxsling.
Oxsling is currently ranked number one in Earthcache finds in the world with over 2,300 Earthcache finds at the current. He has Earthcached
in all 50 states plus Washington DC. He has also Earthcached in ten Canadian provinces.
He will be sharing of his experiences and will pass along information during the Discovery portion of the event.
He currently lives in Tennesee and is a Diamond Discovery and Platinum Earthcache Master.
We will also have other tips provided by other Earthcachers that are Diamond and Emerald Discovery Earthcachers.
We hope to wrap up this portion of the event by some Q&A and stretching our legs and doing a couple of hands on Earthcaches together as a group.
The next section of this event is titled
2.) Development.
There are those who have wondered what developing an Earthcache entails.
We will have a panel of Platinum Earthcache Masters who will walk through some of the following:
- Acceptable and Non Acceptable Earthcache Types
- How to handle gaining permission for Earthcaches
- How does the Earthcache Master and Discovery program work?
- Helpful tips on Where to find information on developing an Earthcache
- Logging Requirements
And Ect.
We will also have notes from our local Earthcache reviewers on the most common mistakes that Developers make that keep their Earthcaches from publishing.
At the end of this session the floor will be open for Q&A. We welcome any input from Earthcache developers in the crowd that would be helpful.
