How Geocaching Works
Note: The cache is NOT at the posted coordinates. At the coordinates you will find a metal tag with
“GEO” and a number on it. You will need this number to solve the puzzle.
No part of this cache is in or on the Visitors Center, but be sure to check it out, they have lots of information on interesting things in the area.
Please park on the side of the street. What looks like it may be a parking lot is really the neighbor’s driveway.
When searching for the cache, please be mindful of the private property that surrounds the cache area. The cache is NOT on private property, so please don’t go there.
Remember that this is a small cache, so please trade only small items.
A special thanks, to Danika at the Westby Chamber of Commerce for the permission to place the cache.
Read on to solve the puzzle.
Ole, the stubborn Norwegian that he was, never trusted banks and hid his valuables so that no one would take them. The only problem was, that he could never remember where he hid is treasures.
He wrote himself a message in code to help him remember where he put it.
I came across some old papers one day while searching in my grandmother’s attic and this is what I found:
I was able to decode the message by using the number that was stamped on the metal tag. I was then able to find Ole’s hidden treasure. Can you find it too?
