An interesting geologic area with some unusual formations.
We think that these formations are NOT petrified trees. Other than that we do not know what they are. They are interesting and are spread out along this ravine for about 1/2 mile (about 1/4 mile each way). After you look them over please post a note in your log as to what you think they may be. If you look closely at some of them you can see bits of calcite shining at you.
Any high-clearance vehicle can make it to the site. Turn off highway 89 3/4 mile west of milepost 17, head south, you'll cross 2 cattleguards in the process. turn off this road at 37 deg. 02.447 min. & 111 deg. 48.039 min. Follow your GPSr from here.
