Geocache Description:

NOTE -- There is a $5.00 parking fee per car to enter the State Park, or you can purchase a yearly pass that will give you unlimited entrance to all GA State Parks. This is a brand new state park, so the road to the park entrance may not be updated in your map set. You will find additional waypoints below to find the entrance to Chattahoochee Bend State Park and the trail head coordinates. There are good signs once you get within 6-10 miles of the park.

Once you have paid your entrance fee, navigate your way to the trail head coordinates. You will find parking at the visitor center, and the beginning of the blue blaze trail. This trail was built by volunteers. Along with many other features to be completed in this new park trails are constantly being created and maintained. If you would like to help with the trails join the Friends of Chattahoochee Bend State Park. Your normal precautions for hiking in the woods apply. You'll need bug spray, boots, and water to drink along your journey. Please remember to practice "Leave no Trace." Hours: Park: 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Office Hours: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. ***PLEASE OBEY ALL PARK RULES -- NO AFTER HOURS NIGHT CACHING -- NO BUSHWHACKING -- NO SHORTCUTS ON SERVICE ROADS OR POWER LINES -- MAKE SURE AND PARK IN DESIGNATED AREAS ONLY AS THERE ARE STEEP FINES FOR PARKING ON THE ROADWAYS IN THE STATE PARKS -- STAY ON MARKED TRAILS UNTIL WITHIN 200' OF CACHE.*** This cache is a bit of a puzzle, but most cachers have seen one before. The puzzle is considerably easier if you work as a team. This is the most popular cache in the park so far, and is intended to cause you fun NOT frustration. Think through your problem and have fun figuring out a workable solution. There was a tool provided to help you solve the puzzle, but it has been removed. That means you will have to have something that holds at least a quart of water, which nature has provided here. Please do NOT alter the hardware in any way. There is a simple way to get to the cache and log, so just do it. Please do not take any shortcuts and destroy the cache and the fun for future visitors! If you can't get to the cache and still want to log it, just log it, I don't care, but PLEASE DON'T DESTROY THE CACHE TO GET TO THE LOG!!! And please replace everything just as you found it. ALSO, PLEASE, PLEASE, BE CAREFUL WHEN OPENING THE MATCH TUBE. THERE IS A GASKET THAT IS VITAL TO THE OPERATION HERE. -- THANK YOU FOR HELPING ME WITH THIS!!! You will have to cross the creek a couple of times if you are coming in from the Welcome Center so if there is a lot of recent rainfall the terrain will increase a little, but then, if there is too little rainfall the difficulty level will increase a little. But really, the creek crossings are very easy.
