HMLT-Smoke-and-Muskets Traditional Geocache

The cache is placed in a location with fairly even terrain. It should be accessible in all weather. Public parking and restrooms are available on site. Placed with permission from the Fort Laurens State Memorial & Museum. A stop along the "History Makes a Left Turn" trail.

This cache can be found in a 5x3.25" container with four locking closures. You'll find a log book, a pencil, and a few puzzle pieces in the cache.

The Fort Laurens State Memorial and Museum are located on the site of Ohio's only Revolutionary War Fort. You can see the outline of the Fort's original footprint on the property and view the Tomb of the Unknown American Patriot. Fort Laurens also serves as one of the trail heads on the Ohio & Erie Canalway Towpath Trail.

As you walk through the grand open field on your way to the cache, an area that was cleared of timber to build the Fort, allow yourself to fall into the past.
