My son Matt used to be brewmeister here but now is attending
graduate school at UNM. The brews are delectable and perhaps will
include specialty holiday treats. There is also food !
Important Note : The staff has been alerted in advance about our
group. We will probably have two waitresses assigned to our tables.
Separate checks are required with a mandatory 18 % minimum gratuity
- you can always leave a bigger tip if you wish. Please tell me
first if you have to leave early. Last year I was overcharged !!
But now let's relax and all have fun. It's also the Winter Solstice
for all you pagans to celebrate !
Here is one review that includes some brew info : Located on
Historic Route 66 in south-central Albuquerque, Kelly's occupies a
1939 Ford dealership building. The décor is very simple, with
painted block walls, open ceiling, and painted concrete floors.
Accessories are limited to a collection of historic photos, a few
nostalgia items, and a couple of WWII posters. The menu is also
simple, featuring sandwiches, soup, salad, appetizers, and basic
dinners, listed as "steak dinner", "shrimp dinner", etc. The
building is non-smoking, and there is patio seating outside the
rollup garage doors. The real feature here is the beer; nineteen
house brews on tap. There is no sampler offered, but we were each
allowed three small samples at no charge.
This event cache(the 3rd annual !!!) is mainly for geocachers to
get to know each other and exchange information. As a bonus treat,
I will provide hints to some recent puzzles presented in the
albuquerquebill caches in the local area. So don't miss the
opportunity for some free hints !
In particular, the top 10 geocachers in New Mexico (as of
12/2/2007 - which change rapidly !) are invited : these are Zuni
Kid, Team Tuxawuxa, cyclegreen, The Plugge Family, Enabler,
geefour, The Browns, yours truly, THE PILGRIM and TONTO, and
manzano wolfe.
