This small lake is in a very secluded place and it feels like it is
a world of its own. In the spring many different birds fill the air
with their songs. In the summer and autumn you will find different
kinds of insects running on the water between beautiful water
lilies, dragon flies buzzing around, spiders sailing over the water
with their long threads caught in the slight breeze, everything
glittering in the sun. In the autumn it’s a great place for
mushrooms.
You can follow a trail from the west side of Nedre Blanksjø.
Recommended stops along the trail are at approximately N 59 58.943
E 10 44.187 where you pass the remains of one of the larger stone
quarries (steinbrudd) that ones were in this area and at
approximately N 59 59.238 E 10 44.036 you will have a wide view
south and east.
The cache is a plastic box (15x10x5 cm). It contains a logbook,
pencil, and some trading items inspired by the area.
Øvre Blanksjø has a group of friends that have their own
“cache-like” item at the main resting area containing a logbook and
some nice reading material. The geocache is therefore placed on the
other side of the lake. Be aware of this and don’t get confused.
You can also make a log entry in the friends’ logbook, but it is
not a geocache and has no web-page.
