Siousca Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

deb3day: Stopped by to check on this one today. I found the cammo that this was hidden it, but didn't find the container. The area has become quite a trash dump. When I find a cache in an area of these conditions, I always wonder what the CO is thinking bringing me here. I don't want to have a cache like that. So reluctantly, I am archiving this cache. I've had fun watching people visit this spot several times to try to find it because it was tricky. The original cache was hidden in a small log. Later, when that log disintegrated, I used a bigger log that had been used on a cache of mine in West Chester. Now that log has been broken and evidently the container has gone missing. I am trying to find out if the trackable was picked up by the last finder. If not, I will go back and try one more time to find the container. It might be there someplace. I would hate to have someone's trackable go missing with it.

Thanks to all to found this one. Time to be retired.

Geocache Description:

A place called Siousca.

Did you know that this place in West Brandywine Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania is called Siousca? I've lived here for many years and never knew that. I've driven past this area many times and never knew it even had a name!

History of this cache container:
Early on in my caching experience I was searching for a cache and came across a container just laying on the ground out in the open. I'd seen a container like it as another cache, so I picked it up. Inside it had a paper indicating it had been used for a caching version of Battleship. I saw a hole in a tree nearby and put the container in it, not knowing what it was all about. We found the cache we were looking for about 50 feet away. I put a message about this onto the forums and was contacted shortly afterwards by Kin9sPank who told me I'd found a container from a special Battleship game played in the park. The battleship game had been a year ago and the container still looked brand new. He told me I could either go get the container and use it or tell him where it was and he'd retrieve it. I decided to go back and get the container to make a cache of my own. I am finally placing this container back in play. I am even using the original piece of paper that was in the cache as the log. You'll see the original use on the one side, my log on the other. Please just date and name to conserve space so that this log can be used for a while. (Original log is now gone, but the container is still the original)

There is ample parking near the cache tho there are often muggles parked here, usually trucks. The cache is not in any of the trucks or trailers parked here. They come and go, the cache does not. Please use stealth if muggles are nearby. The day I placed the cache, in between thunderstorms, I had to wait for a car full of muggles to leave. Please put cap on tightly and replace cache as found.
