This is the longest night of the year. What better thing to do than to go caching!
===NOTE: This is a trial of a new type of event. We will be going geocaching. If you log a will attend then be ready to be out in the elements geocaching ===
There are a couple of night caches in this tract of land and a few traditional caches. We will assemble in the parking lot and make our way on a loop, as best we can to find the six caches.
This is a tricky time of year. The weather is unpredictable. Your schedule may be unpredictable. One thing we know for sure is there won't be a lot of daylight. We will start our activities at 18:30 hours. The loop should take us between 2-3 hours.
If it is cold you will need to bring plenty of batteries. My headlamp will last 3 hours on one AA during summer conditions. I don't know how long it will last in winter conditions so I'll be bringing extra batteries. Are your batteries up to the challenge?
The night caches in this area use FireTacks and UV. A headlamp is best for following FireTacks. One of the benefits of group outings is that we can share resources. I'll be bringing my UV light. It's a good idea to bring your own if you have one so you can see it in action.
