About John Coltrane:
John "Trane" Coltrane, the legendary jazz musician, was born in Hamlet, NC and grew up right here in High Point, NC.
He has been credited with reshaping modern jazz and with being the predominant influence on successive generations of saxophonists.
Trane played with a variety of jazz musicians including Charlie Parker, Miles Davis, and another NC native, Thelonious Monk.
