News: You may have already met the
requirements!
I've only seen a couple challenges like this anywhere (example
GC2ACA4), and I thought it would be a great challenge, but the
obsticals can include a painful record keeping requirement. Working
my way through my finds from the begiinning, I found that it took
me 174 days and 185 finds to reach the 100 cache owner threshold.
(Your mileage may vary.)
But it is now easy for anyone familiar with mygeocachingprofile.com.
At my request (no kidding - they really responded to my query!)
there is now a function that will compute the number of unique
cache hiders represented by your logged finds. It just so happens
that, as of this publishing, I had 446 unique cache owners
represented in my 1203 finds. (Check out
my profile page for current stats!)
To log this find, post the
cacheownerstats.jpg on your profile (you have to be a member to
use the My Finds query function to feed mygeocachingprofile.com). -
or - create a
public bookmark file (also requires paid membership) - or -
(last resort for the low-tech-savvy if there are any such in the
caching community) send me a spreadsheet listing of your qualifying
finds (only free option, to my knowledge).
Cheaters will have their smilies deleted.
This cache is placed in a dawn to dusk park (gates close at 5 PM
Nov-Mar) so, NO NIGHT CACHING - REALLY, unless you are walking into
the park from the canal path (parking at Henpeck Park). A simple,
straightforward hide. The only real challenge is the muggle factor.
This is in Monroe County's first dog park, and dog owners are
coming and going literally all day.
Keeping with the theme, I've populated this cache with
signature items. Personal coins, trackable and
otherwise, wooden nickles, buttons and calling cards top the list
of signature items frequently left in caches that I collected in
trade at caches. No junk please, but feel free to add your own
signature item to this cache!
COs post-publication note: I'm really excited to see that
cachers have figured out how to attach the .jpg image created by
www.mygeocachingprofile.com as a picture in their log entry. Very
cool!
