This cache is part of a series of five famous lakes/reservoirs located in North Wales. These multi-caches comprise of a 35mm film canister leading onto a regular sized ammo box. Each box contains a clue, leading to a sixth lake which is not quite so famous but nevertheless well worth a visit.
The co-ords given above are for the micro cache, in the micro cache you will find the co-ords for the regular sized plastic box.
Llyn Celyn reservoir was made to provide additional water to the city of Liverpool in 1965. This necessitated the drowning of the village of Celyn located in the bed of the valley. Understandably the project met with a great deal of local opposition and many protest rallies took place. The flooding of the valley led to the building of Chapel Celyn on the side of the lake, to where the many gravestones from the village Capel were moved.
Another feature of the area is the memorial Rock dedicated to the Quakers of the 17th & 18th century, a religious group that would gather in a small house Hafod Fadog in the valley below, and later in a larger location as the congregation grew. The Quakers suffered much persecution for their beliefs, and as a result a large numbers of them emigrated to Pennsylvania, where to this day there is a community of Welsh speaking people.
The careful landscaping of the dam has enhanced the valley and the white water rafting/canoeing, controlled by the outflow from the dam has brought many visitors to the area and greatly assisted the tourist trade.
The cache contains a log book, pencil, sharpener and a geocache notice with a clue for the Not so Famous - Llyn Arenig Fawr.
The original cache contents were:
Batman Begins TB,
FM Radio,
Fish shaped Karabina,
Tiger Pen,
24 Party Candles,

20mm Brass Padlock and
a Highlighter Pen.
Don't forget record the co-ords for the final and please be careful when muggles are around.
Good Luck!
Happy Caching
