Pirate Treasure Island Traditional Geocache
GadgetMan: Sorry, folks, have been informed that this is not public park land, but is private - pending landowner approval, just going to archive this in deference. It's been a great couple of years. Also note that the nearby WMA had concerns about people being aware of waterfowl hunting notices and seasons.

Located on Point of Cedars Island (known by the locals as Treasure Island) in Little Assawoman Bay, east of Fenwick Island, Delaware
(fixed up 2 August 2007) No way to get to this cache without getting your feet wet. A kayak, canoe, sailboat, motorboat, or jetski is required - may be rented and/or launched from nearby Fenwick Island State Park (bayside area). There are rumors that Bluebeard hid his loot around Fenwick, most of which was not recovered because he was captured and hanged. Ocassionally, lights are seen moving about the island, although it is not inhabited (by humans at least -- some say the ghost of Bluebeard is seeking his treasure.) Some locals know about geocaching, as well as the hiders, who vacation nearby. Due to bad winter storms, this geocache can get beat up, and is replenished periodically. Don't be startled by the resident egrets. This is now a nalgene water bottle with mini log. There's room for small to medium trinkets, coins, cards etc. Good luck, and don't wander out here at night, where you might run into an old pirate!
